Passport Requirements

  • A passport valid for 6 months is required by all.

Visa Requirements

A Visa is required by all except the following:

Nationals of Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syrian Arab Republic, United Arab Emirates and Yemen for maximum stays of 1 month (extensions may be obtained at the nearest police station)

Transit passengers continuing their journey to another country by the same or first connecting aircraft within 24 hours provided holding valid onward or return documentation and not leaving the airport. Some nationalities may obtain a 7-day transit visa upon arrival if traveling from a neighboring Arab country. Transit visas can only be issued at Jordanian airports/airlines and not at embassies or consulates.

Note Nationals from some countries can obtain visas on arrival at the airport in Jordan. Multiple-entry visas can only be obtained at the nearest Embassy/Consulate.

Types of visa and fees

  • $33 AUD (single-entry) to enter Jordan valid for one month from the date of issue.
  • $63 AUD (multiple-entry) to enter Jordan valid for 6 months from the date of issue.

Validity

  • Tourist: 1 month for single-entry, 6 months for multiple-entry

Visitors holding a visa must report to the nearest Police station if they need to extend their residency for more than one month

Application requirements

  1. Completed application form.
  2. Passport valid for at least 6 months with at least one blank page.
  3. One recent passport-size photo.
  4. Stamped, self-addressed, recorded or registered envelope.
  5. Fee (only cash or postal orders are accepted).

Working days required

Immediately if applying in person, one working day by post once application has been received.
